Amber grew up in Lexington, Kentucky but now lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her BFA in ceramics from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and her MFA in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. She currently teaches photography at Fleisher Art Memorial and in the pre-college program at UARTS. Amber also has a portrait studio were she shoots headshots, portraits, fashion, and artwork. Her art work has been shown both nationally and internationally. Amber has been photographing for 13 years, always with a special interest in the portrait.

| When my clients arrive I offer them tea and a comfortable place to sit and talk before we get started. I tell them a little about my self and my studio. I ask them questions about themselves and try to get to know them a little. This helps them warm up to me and feel more comfortable in front of my camera. During the shoot I continue to ask them questions. I find that when a person is thinking of what to say or has just said something about themselves they are most relaxed and not thinking about the camera. |
